Maiwand Champions made a strong start to the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day Tournament 2026 by defeating Mah-e-Par Stars by 34 runs in the opening match. After posting 211 and 217, they successfully defended a target of 232, dismissing the opposition for 197 in both innings to secure a hard-fought victory and early points.

Rahmanullah was the leading run-scorer for the side with scores of 84 and 45, while Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai contributed 51 and 44 runs. Captain and wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai added a solid 51 in the second innings, and Najibullah Zadran made a useful 35. The batting line-up showed resilience after early collapses in both innings.
