Raengdai FC are one of eight teams making their Durand Cup debut this season. Founded in 2022 and based in Noney, Manipur, the club made an immediate impact by finishing runners-up in I-League 3 and earning promotion to I-League 2 for the 2026-27 season. 

Head coach Birbal Singh Kshetrimayum, who guided them through their successful national debut, will once again lead the side.

Meanwhile, Shoraisham Sagar Singh was their standout performer last season, finishing as the club's top scorer with three goals. Also, Raengdai have further strengthened their attack by signing Midul Doley, the joint top scorer in I-League 3. 

Having scored the joint-most goals in the playoff stage, the Manipuri side possess enough attacking firepower to trouble Indian Navy FT and could adopt an aggressive approach in their opening fixture.

The Indian Navy Football Team (INFT), established in 1956, is one of the core service sides representing the Indian Armed Forces and a regular participant in the Durand Cup. The team has also provided talented players with pathways to professional ISL and I-League clubs, with the ultimate goal of representing the Indian national team.

However, their best run in recent Durand Cup history came last season, when they topped their group with wins over Real Kashmir FC and TRAU FC before reaching the quarter-finals. Although they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Shillong Lajong after taking the lead, the campaign marked a major step forward. 

With last season's joint top scorers, Sreyas VG and Vijay Marandi, returning to the squad, the Indian Navy will aim to build on that success and go even further this time around.
